Homecoming week is always exciting. Being a junior Sam was excited to play Powder Puff Football against the Seniors.
Some of the Junior boys gave a great half time performance!
In the end the Juniors and the Seniors tied the game.
It's not a great picture and it's hard to tell exactly what Miki is holding, but the story is so cute I had to put it in here. As we were walking along the track after the game had ended Miki spotted a moth that looked like it was having a hard time. Upon further investigation she discovered that it's wings were indeed damaged, and it couldn't fly. Out of great concern for the moth she put it under the bleachers where it wouldn't get stepped on, but not before I took it's picture.
The homecoming parade is always fun. For years we've had the tradition of checking the kids out of school early enough so that we can go eat lunch before the parade. As Sam gets older, she has to be with us in spirit because she's so busy getting ready to be part of the parade. It's always fun to see her and the Royals dance by.
We go to the same spot every year, and usually end up with a few family members there too.
Kyler wasn't liking all the noise that was going by us, so he sat with his ears plugged.
It's always fun to see nieces and nephews in the parade. This year Dawntae road on their class float.
Finally the event that makes Homecoming Week happen... the football game with the Royals dancing at half time.
Kids are creative these days. The homecoming dance was also the Sadie Hawkins Dance, so Sam asked her date by remodeling a Rubik cube to spell out her name (he is a Rubik genius) and she decorated his room and left signs that spelled out "will you go to homecoming with me?" Then he had to solve the Rubik cube to find out who "me" was. This was his answer to her.
Homecoming week was a success!
