The little things? The little moments? They aren't little.

Time Flies

I just realized that the last post I made was exactly 2 months ago.  Two months!!  I'm not sure where the time has gone, but I really wouldn't mind it slowing down a tad.  Life in these past two months has been full of traditions, and just normal day to day living.  In the interest of the blog book I print at the end of the year, I will be catching up a few of these moments- hopefully before Thanksgiving.  Our annual family Halloween party seemed like a good starting point.  From our short play (written by Miki)....

... the worm pie eating contest...

... to our witches brew that for some reason entertains all ages...

...the crafting of our jack-o-lantern jars....

... to the line formed for game time..

... young and old had a great time.  With  the rush of the season, some years I wonder if it wouldn't hurt if we skipped a year.  But I don't.  Traditions are important for lots of reasons, but this year I realized one I'd never thought of before.  Last year my niece was at our party with her kids, and a few months later she was in an automobile accident that she almost didn't come back from.  And although she's alive, things will never be the same with her.   We never know when that last moment with someone may be, and I hope to remember this and not take moments, traditions, or time with loved ones for granite.

Moving right along with the spirit of Halloween, dressing up has to be one of my favorite parts.  Halloween night Miki and Jill got ready for trick-or-treating, but not before a quick photo shoot.

I miss all of my girls dressing up, but at least Sam does have a glow stick around her head.

Jill says this is her last year trick-or-treating and wanted to do it with her friends.  So, Miki made plans to go with her two younger cousins.  She was so cute and looked out for the youngest the whole time.

Glow sticks are way better than candy!

I can report that Jillian came home with a bag full of candy, and Miki had about half a bag.  Between the two of them all of the candy was eaten within two days.
