Happy Birthday Mik!

Mik. Smart. Funny. Dancer. Prankster. Friendly. Beautiful. Kind. Determined. Confident. Full of Life. Loved... Happy Birthday!

This year was a special treat.  Kamill, her kids, and Troy came to spend a few days with us, and they were able to celebrate Mik's birthday with us.  Allie and Mik "helped" make the cake and finished up by licking the beaters.

Mik was excited for all of her presents, but especially this camera that she'd been begging to buy for months.  It was a great day!

Bunny sitting and 24th Celebrating

Mik and Jill have a couple of friends.  Their friends rescued a baby bunny.  When their friends left town they asked us to bunny sit.  How could we say no?

To celebrate Pioneer Day we went to our neighboring town to watch the fireworks.  There's no better way to pass the time than playing with glow sticks while you wait.

Swim Time

Summer time = Swim time.  Who better to learn from than your big sister.  We enrolled Mik in swim lessons for a session, and we were happy to find out she would be taught by her big sister!  Her big sister is a great swim teacher.

July 4th festivities

I'm only a month late posting these pictures- I do believe I'm getting better.  Our 4th festivities came and went just like every other year.  Same tradition, same food, same festivities, same fun.  The 4th just wouldn't be the same without all the chaos.  This year we were so blessed to have Danelle back with us.  She is our family miracle.  We also had my brother with us this year, and that is a miracle in itself.   The pictures are a little out of order...

Jeri bought and painted this bug for Danelle.  Both had a great time driving in the parade.

I could say our parade really is this exciting, but I won't lie.  This little guy hit his mom with a water balloon, and it totally made his day.

The amount of kids on the sidelines of the parade are getting fewer in number for our family.  Mik found the spray from the water truck to be quite refreshing.

It's always great to have grandpa with us.  This was his first time meeting his great grandkids, Deizel and Acadia.

These guys have been in the parade for as long as I can remember.

Past Time

It's so past time for an update, I'm a tad ashamed.  I thought last year went by in a blur, but this year is already half way over!  I decided Sam's birthday would be a good place to try and redeem myself.  As usual we had a party for her with our 4th of July bbq so that all or our visiting family could celebrate with her.  Here she is with all of her birthday presents.  I finally got her the minky quilt made that she's been wanting, a "toothless" pillow pet from her boyfriend, a bunji chair, a new robe and a fist full of money.
The story behind the money was entertaining.  Grandpa started it off by handing her some money and everyone else pitched in.  With around $80 in hand one of her cousins told everyone to keep giving her more to get her up to $100.  After a few more donations she was up to a little over a hundred.  Then everyone kept giving her money to get her up to $117, because it was her 17th birthday.  She was more than happy.

This next picture fits right in with our life.  It is of Sam blowing out her candles on her birthday cake, but it is a little over a week late.  Our life is so crazy these days that this is the first opportunity we had to have her birthday cake.  The older our girls get the more directions and crazy turns our life takes.

The months leading up to July were full of life.  From dance competitions, volleyball games, birthdays, a baptism, college graduation, high school graduation, and lots of fun packed in between I couldn't be happier in this journey called life.

Welcome 2014

2013 flew by in a blur.  I've never been superstitious, but '13 really seemed to be an unlucky year.  It's one I'm glad to see behind us.  New Years Eve found us at home, except for Sam.  On her way out the door she let me snap her picture.  Jill had a couple of friends over, while the rest of us kept each other company.

These photo props were quite entertaining.

Once Jill and her friends got involved I was ready for anything.

Don't let their calm looks fool you.

With cupcakes, and ice cream, and cookies, and lots of other sugar loaded foods they were bouncing off the walls.

This was Jill's 6th or 7th cupcake.... at least.  I kinda miss the younger days when it was hard for them to  make it to midnight, let alone past it.  Mik, Jill and company stayed up All Night Long!!  And that's no exaggeration.

Good riddance 2013... hello 2014!  -Why no one bothered to tell me my stash was lopsided and my hat wasn't on right is beyond me.
