The little things? The little moments? They aren't little.

Homecoming 2012

Our best entertainment began before the parade started its route; a series of events that led to Jill hiding behind this plant.

I glanced over at  Miki and Kay.  Such a sweet moment.  Kay looked like he was really enjoying whatever story Miki had to tell, as much as Miki was having fun telling it.  (Notice the boys behind Kay, one of them is named Jackson)

Then I see Jill running towards them, and Jill sees red.  She is livid at Miki.  Apparently the sweet little sister was letting out one of Jill's secrets.  Jill likes Jackson.

Jill's not sure what to do or feel. She's embarrassed, mad, and wants to hurt her little sister.  From the look on Miki's face, I think Jill is succeeding.

After convincing Jill to release her death grip on Miki she does the only thing sensible.  She hides.   The theatre provided the perfect refuge.

Kenzie was the only one who could talk Jill out of hiding.  The look on every one's face tells the story so well.  Kenzie is on Jill's side, although she found it a little on the humorous side along with the rest of us.  Jill is still very mad.  She looks like she wants to crawl away in a hole and hide.  And Miki, my sweet little Miki, well apparently the death grip and inflicted pain from her sister was worth it.  She still can't stop laughing.

Ahhh.  To be the baby.  She will never know what it's like to have a little sister torment her the way she does her older siblings.

Once the parade started and candy was being thrown, Jill came out from behind the plant to join the rest of us.

By the time evening came and it was time for the game Jill had forgiven Miki.  The two ran and played with friends until half time came around.  Then they were out on the field to watch their favorite Royal, Sam.

It was a pretty boring game.  The final score was 42-0.  Another win for our team!

#75- Huey!  So fun to see him on the field

New Beginnings

Last week Kay came home from work with a little surprise.  I was in the basement and could hear him walking across the floor, but I also heard a tiny meow.

He'd found this kitten at work in a box and by the end of the day decided he ought to bring it home.  She barely had her eyes open, so we figured she was probably about 2 weeks old.  She learned to eat from the dropper pretty fast, and a week later she's now graduating to a bottle.  Sam put her claim on her and named her "MooShoo"- the dragon from the cartoon Mulan.

In the middle of all the kitten excitement we also had a baptism.  Miki was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Sept. 8th.  She was so excited for this day.

We are so proud of her.  When asked what it means to be baptized she said it meant you will always have the holy ghost to be with you, and she will get to be a true member of the church.  She has such a sweet testimony and spirit about her.

Thanks to her cousin Anthony we have a few fun shots after the baptism.

My mom was so busy this day with getting to her job, this ended up being the only picture of her.  Miki was excited to have her give the "special" talk on the holy ghost.  It's special because she always wraps the child in a blanket while she teaches them about the holy ghost.

Here she is with the special blanket from grandma, and her baptism bear from Sam's talk.  The bear is to remind her of her baptismal covenants known as the 3 "bares".

She was also excited to get her own set of scriptures and scripture bag from mom and dad.  Inside is also her own little hymn book from grandpa and grandma Low.  She also received the ring from a friend, the baptism bracelet and necklace from us.  She had a lot of fun putting the scripture stickers in her sciptures from her sister, Kamill.

Our newest member of the church.

We were so grateful for the family that was able to make it for her baptism.  After the baptism we had a dinner complete with all the cafe Rio fixings and root beer floats to top it off with.  Before everyone left we had all the grand kids (and a few great-grand kids) that were here sit in for a picture with grandpa Low.  This is such a small portion of what there is.  Someday we might get everyone together.

You Go Girl

Alas the mighty hunters are at the last step of taking care of their deer meat.  This is the first year Sam was more than a spectator and actually got her hands into it to help cut up the roasts.

Not something I'd particularly want to do, but I did willingly let them use my craft room table. That counts for something, right?

Love to see them both so hard at work, and they do it so in sync.
